The OLV Vattikuti Robotic Surgery Institute (OVRSI) has announced the dates in 2015 for Urology Intensive Training at the OLV Vattikuti Robotic Surgery Institute, Melle, Belgium. The first course is the six-day Intensive Robotic Training course: Theory, Simulators and dry lab work plus 2 days of animal training and 2 days of live surgery using dual robotic consoles.
The second offering is: Intensive Procedure Specific Robotic Training including: Robot-Assisted Partial nephrectomy, Robot-Assisted Cystectomy & intracorporeal neobladder and Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy. These sessions can be either 2- or 3-days, with Theory, animal training and dual-console live surgery.
The OVRSI also offers participants the ability to "customize" the classes to suit their specific needs. The Course Director is Prof. Dr. Alex Mottrie, long recognized as a leader in the European robotic surgery community and Vattikuti Foundation friend and partner surgeon. Prof. Dr. Vincenzo Ficarra is the Scientific Director of the OLV Vattikuti Robotic Surgery Institute and Professor of Urology, University of Padua, Italy. Dr. Giacomo Novara is also Scientific Director of the OVRSI and is the Assistant Professor of Urology, Department of Surgery, Oncology and Gastroenterology- Urology Clinic, University of Padua, Italy.
