In a study presented at the 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, bariatric surgery performed prior to a total knee arthroplasty (TKA) or total hip arthroplasty (THA) in morbidly obese patients was found to reduce in-hospital and 90-day postoperative complications and improve patient health.

The April 8 & 9 meeting of the Robotic Surgeons Council of India featured an address from the Founder and Chairman of Apollo Hospitals, Dr. Prathap C.
