Arvind Kumar,

Professor/Dr. Arvind Kumar belongs to the group of leading Thoracic and Robotic Surgeons all over the world. He has been contributing to the field of medical sciences for almost 30 years. Dr. Kumar is the first surgeon to start Robotic Chest Surgery in India – at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in June 2008.  Kumar is respected as a pioneer in Robotic and Chest Surgery who has numerous firsts to his credits in this field in India/Asia.  He introduced Thoracoscopy (VATS) in India in 1995 and lectured extensively across the country to popularize it.  As a Consultant in surgery at AIIMS since 1988, he performed an entire range of General Surgery from Thyroid, Breast, and Adrenal to an entire range of abdominal surgery.  He has attended over 50 International and over 400 national conferences so far and has delivered lectures or presented papers at these conferences.  Dr. Kumar has been a guide to over 100 Postgraduate and PhD students at AIIMS and has been recipient of several prestigious research projects.
