Krishnaswamy Subramaniam (KS) National Awards 2020 for the Best Robotic Surgery Video

The Vattikuti Foundation is pleased to announce 2020 KS National Robotic Surgery Video Awards. Three Prizes worth: INR 100,000, 50,000 and 25,000 would be awarded for First, Second and Third Prizes, respectively.  The Awards competition is open to all Indian robotic surgeons.  The subject material of your video shall be on an aspect of robotic surgery.  Any specialty is welcome.  This is a nationwide contest, open to all Indian Robotic Surgeons / Fellows / Residents.

The Vattikuti Foundation established the KS National Robotic Surgery Video Awards to honor the memory of the late Shri Krishnaswami Subramaniam (KS, as he liked to be called), who played a key role in the establishment of robotic surgery in India.  Your videos must provide viewers with valuable training information on an aspect of robotic surgery of your choice.  We invite robotic surgery professionals to send us their completed videos to the Vattikuti Foundation by Tuesday October 1, 2020.  All videos will be judged on the quality of content, level of educational benefit, relevance and informative value in today’s fast-moving world of robotic surgery.  Only one entry will be permitted per individual. All specialties are invited!  Select videos will be placed on the Foundation's YouTube channel, which serves as the repository for our video library.

All KS Award video entries must be received at the Foundation by Tuesday, October 1, 2020, via wetransfer.com.  Videos missing the deadline will not be included for consideration for a KS Award.  Videos must be in HD, files sent in the .mp4 or .mov video formats only. An abstract must accompany the video file.  Sound and image quality must be suitable for large screen auditorium projection.   The Vattikuti Foundation staff invites early submission of videos for evaluation and possible guidance.   Please note: By submitting your video, yous acknowledge that your video may be used on the Foundation’s website via our YouTube channel for educational purposes.  The presenters name must be on the video and abstract files, for recordkeeping.  Videos of a promotional nature (eg: with surgeon / institution name shown throughout) will be rejected.  An independent international jury would decide on the awards and their decisions will be final.

KS VIDEO ENTRY BASICS: Videos must be in HD, no longer than 8-minutes, and use the .mp4 or .mov formats.  All videos must be completely self-contained, and must be narrated.  Appropriate titles/labels, edited footage, photos and graphics are required to effectively present your subject material.  (Avoid using flashy graphics and titles which make it difficult to read the subject material completely!)  Programs not capable of being projected clearly to a large audience will be rejected.  Video and sound (narration) quality are most important!  The deadline for all videos will be: 1 October 2020.  The selections will be announced at a future date to be announced.

NOTICE: NO MUSIC IS PERMITTED, DUE TO COPYRIGHT VIOLATION CONCERNS!

We are here to assist, and welcome pieces (sent early) for critique and guidance.

(If it doesn’t look or sound good on your computer- it won’t in an auditorium!)
