RSC Status Session - Dr Rajesh Ahlawat, Dr T B Yuvaraja, Dr Mahesh Desai

In August, 2013, the Vattikuti Foundation sponsored a meeting of some of the top robotic surgeons in India. Hosted by Foundation CEO Dr. Mahendra Bhandari, they began work to form an organization dedicated to sharing ideas amongst their colleagues in the medical community. Each gave short presentations about the progress being made at their respective hospital robotic programs. In this video, Medanta's Dr. Rajesh Ahlawat, who talked of the steady growth and acceptance of the robot. They are planning to add a new robotic surgery complex as they work to become a regional training center, complete with simulators and a dual-console system. Dr. T.B. Yuvaraja of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital talks about how urology has driven robot use, but the other specialties are picking up there. Dr. Mahesh Desai from Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital made it clear that the use and excitement about robotic surgery is growing at his facility. They use the robot: "Irrespective if they (patients), can afford it." They have "lots of plans for expanded use." With PowerPoint images.
